Jakarta, January 26 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck the town of Milongwan in the Luawatara district of Sulawesi, northern Indonesia.
According to the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, the quake occurred at a depth of 10 km.
Indonesia is located along the Pacific Ring of Fire characterized by active volcanoes and frequent earthquakes. The country experiences earthquakes greater than 6.0 magnitude almost every year.
