Ministry of Labor Closes and Revokes Licenses of 23 Labor Recruitment Offices for not Responding to Claims, Complaints

Doha, March 01 (QNA) - The Ministry of Labor announced today the closure and withdrawal of licenses of 23 Labor recruitment offices, for violating the decision to regulate the conditions and procedures for licensing Labor recruitment from abroad and for non response to customer's complaints, as part of the continuous follow-up and control efforts on recruitment offices, and to ensure the implementation of decisions issued by the Ministry, which would maintain the rights of employers and domestic workers.
The Ministry of Labor is carrying out continuous inspection campaigns on recruitment offices to monitor their compliance with the implementation of the applied decisions to regulate the recruitment of domestic workers.
The Ministry stated that the inspection teams, during their rounds, make sure that the new forms of employment contracts for domestic workers are used in accordance with the terms of the decision to extend the guarantee, in addition to making sure that they adhere to the recruitment prices according to the decision to set the maximum prices for the recruitment of domestic workers.
The Ministry of Labor has established direct means of communication to receive complaints from the public, including the hotline at 40288101, and has urged all citizens and residents to report any abuses or violations by domestic Labor recruitment offices regarding the implementation of the Ministry's decisions on extension of the probationary period, or the decision to limit the maximum prices for the recruitment of domestic workers.
