GCC Strongly Condemns Israeli Forces' Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque
Riyadh, April 05 (QNA) - Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the continued storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli occupation forces.
Al budaiwi said in a statement that the continued storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, violating its sanctities and attacking its worshipers, is a dangerous escalation, a violation of the Holy Mosque, and a provocation to the feelings of the Muslim world.
GCC Secretary-General also considered the storming as being contradictory with international principles and norms in respect of religious sanctities, as well as being a flagrant violation of international law and the resolutions of international legitimacy.
He stressed that the continuous violations and assaults on sanctities - in conjunction with the ongoing Israeli incursions into the occupied Palestinian territories, warn of further escalation and represent a dangerous trend that Israel bears responsibility for given all of its serious consequences which undermine all efforts to prevent the escalation of violence threatening security and peace in the region.
GCC Secretary-General called on the international community to take urgent action to stop these systematic moves by the Israeli occupation authorities and to support all regional and international efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East, as well as to ensure that regional and global peace are kept.
Jasem Mohamed Al budaiwi reaffirmed the GCC countries' firm stance on the Palestinian issue being the paramount cause for Arabs and Muslims, stressing GCC countries' support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
