Doha, April 10 (QNA) - President of Qatar Fine Arts Association Yusuf Al Sada stressed that the association's strategy in the coming period would focus on activities and events that promote cultural movement in society.
The new board of directors of the Qatar Fine Arts Association consists of the president artist Yusuf Khalifa Al Sada, the vice-president artist Nawal Saeed Al Kuwari, the secretary-general artist Sheikha Hamda Al-Thani, and the treasurer artist Hassan Abdullah Al Haddad, along with the membership of the artist Moudhi Hamad Al Hajri, the artist Fatima Rashid Al Mannai, and the artist Al Anoud Abdullah Al Kuwari.
The term of the new board of directors continues until 2026. The board of directors aims to reflect the goals of the 300-member General Assembly in promoting the fine arts in Qatar and developing the skills of the members, especially the youth.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of his re-election as President of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Fine Arts Association, Yusuf Al Sada said that the new board of directors would work to enhance the artistic activities, pointing out that the association's management intends to launch a new strategy that includes holding new art exhibitions besides the fixed annual exhibitions, such as an annual summer exhibition, which will be held in May and continues until July for the members of the association.
He explained that participation is available to everyone with specifying some conditions for all exhibitions such as the sizes of the works submitted and that the works have complete artistic direction and are technically integrated, adding that all art schools can participate in the exhibitions.
Al Sada pointed out that among the most important annual static exhibitions are the Qatari artists' exhibition and the elite exhibition, which is dedicated to the works of pioneers and the generation that follows them, with the participation of some young people who are keen to develop their artistic experiences from Qatar and others countries.
The President of Qatar Fine Arts Association, who is also the President of the Federation of Gulf Fine Arts Associations, explained that among the activities that the association maintains within its new strategy is to enhance the artistic taste by holding educational seminars concerned with art criticism from both theoretical and practical sides, in addition to workshops for pioneer artists from Qatar and Arab and foreign countries.
He underlined the association's interest in enhancing the presence of the Qatari artist in various international forums, including the cultural activities organized by the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), especially the sculpture exhibition for Gulf artists.
Al Sada added that the association is also interested in the international presence of the Qatari artist, whether Arab or foreign, as the association participated in many Arab events, and there is an effort to organize exhibitions in Arab countries and Europe. (QNA)
