Doha, May 07 (QNA) - Advisor to the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Majed bin Mohammad Al Ansari stressed that the position of the State of Qatar on normalization with the Syrian regime has not changed.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Al Ansari said that the State of Qatar always seeks to support achieving Arab consensus and will not be an obstacle to that, but the official position of the State of Qatar on normalization with the Syrian regime is a decision linked primarily to progress in the political solution that fulfills the aspirations of the Syrian people.

The spokesperson expressed the aspiration of the State of Qatar to work with the Arab brothers in achieving the aspirations of the Syrian people for dignity, peace, development and prosperity and for this consensus to be a motive for the Syrian regime to address the roots of the crisis that led to its boycott and take positive steps towards addressing the issues of the Syrian people and improving its relations with its Arab surroundings in a way that enhances security and stability in the region.

At the end of his statement, Dr. Al Ansari reaffirmed Qatar's support for all regional and international efforts to find a comprehensive and just solution to the Syrian crisis that respects Syria's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity. (QNA)
