Minister of Culture Honors Several Artists During Doha Theater Festival

Doha, May 21 (QNA) - HE Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani honored a number of Qatari theater figures, in appreciation of their theatrical devotion and creativity.

This came during the ceremony of the 35th Doha Theater Festival that was held under the theme "50 Years of Qatari Theater" during the main evening of the festival, which is being held from May 16 - 29 at the Drama Theater in the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara).

His Excellency honored the artists: Mohammed Boujassoum, Ghazi Hussain, and Hamad Abdulreda, in appreciation of their great artistic and pioneering careers in the world of theater. His Excellency also honored the Qatari theatrical troupes' candidates as each troupe candidates two of its members, namely from Qatar theater troupe: critic and writer Dr. Hassan Rasheed and artist Saad Bakheet.

From Doha theater groups: Artist Rashid Shabeeb and director and artists Ali Khalaf. From watan theater troupe: artist Youssef Sultan and artist Saadi Al Shamari.

HE the Minister of Culture also welcomed the guests of the Doha Theater Festival, including artists and critics from the GCC countries and Iraq. (QNA)
