Doha, May 27 (QNA) - HEC Paris in Qatar and Weill Cornell-Medicine Qatar, both partner universities of Qatar Foundation, hosted a panel discussion on 'Leading Change in Healthcare: Strategies for effective healthcare management in an ever-changing policy landscape', which explored the latest trends and innovations in healthcare management and policy, and provided attendees with key insights for succeeding in this rapidly changing industry.

The panel brought together healthcare industry leaders, representing a range of disciplines from surgical consultants, to dementia-care, academics, and disease control researchers.

"The healthcare sector is being disrupted across the entire delivery landscape and demands new strategies to address increasing patient expectations, the emergence of personalized healthcare and stricter regulatory standards.", explained Dean of HEC Paris in Qatar Dr. Pablo Martin de Holan.

"Through our collaboration with Weill Cornell Medicine, we are committed to ensuring that Qatar's healthcare sector upholds its reputation for excellence and effectively fulfills the ambitious goals set forth in the Qatar National Vision 2030," he added.

For his part, Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar Dr. Javaid Sheikh commented: "Widespread change is needed to address the evolution of the sector, utilizing technology, fresh design processes and new financial and logistics models to deliver productivity improvements, financial and talent sustainability and regulatory compliance while driving value-based care. We are proud to have partnered with HEC Paris in Qatar to bring together experts from different sectors to share their knowledge and perspectives and we look forward to delivering further panel discussions to ensure Qatar's healthcare sector remains an outstanding case study of performance and societal excellence." Last year, HEC Paris in Qatar and Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar initiated a collaborative effort by launching an Executive Certificate in Healthcare Management and Policy. Building upon this success, the second edition of the program is scheduled to commence in November of this year. The primary objective of this program is to enhance systems-level management expertise and expedite positive patient outcomes in Qatar and the broader region.

The program consists of two one-week modules; one in New York, led by Weill Cornell, and one in Doha, led by HEC Paris. This collaboration clearly demonstrates the value that cooperation between partner universities brings to the community, which forms a core element of the Qatar Foundation multiversity strategy.

The panel discussion concluded with a lively question and answer session that demonstrated the commitment of Qatar's healthcare professionals to leading and managing the transformation taking place in the sector. (QNA)
