Doha, June 13 (QNA) - The Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) organized Tuesday an extensive workshop to discuss ways to develop the charitable aid system within the country, and to coordinate and unify the efforts of charitable internal aid system with the participation of specialists from a number of approved charitable societies.

In a statement, RACA said that this workshop comes as a culmination of the great efforts that RACA and the charitable sector have made recently, regarding studying ways to develop the internal charitable aid system in the country.

RACA noted that it is working closely with the charitable sector to prepare a detailed working mechanism for developing, organizing and providing charitable internal aid at the state level, including aid provided to those in debt, through an integrated initiative that includes a digital platform aimed at facilitating coordination between the agencies providing internal aid in the country, and accelerating deciding on requests submitted by beneficiaries, and building a national database through which real-time reports can be provided to support relevant decision-making mechanisms to expand the segment of beneficiaries.

It also provides the necessary data for the case study of the beneficiaries, after obtaining the beneficiaries consent to view their data with the various charitable and governmental agencies.

During the workshop, RACA confirmed that its role is to lead, support and sponsor efforts to establish the charitable internal aid system, provide government support for it, and supervise its continuous development in cooperation with the sector and with relevant government agencies, while the charitable and development sector in the country receives requests from beneficiaries of charitable internal aid.

In this context, Rashid Al Nuaimi, head of RACA's team assigned to coordinate with the charitable and development sector, said that the aim of holding the workshop is to realize the vision of charitable work leaders in the country by finding a practical mechanism to coordinate work between all parties related to aid within the country, and turn it into a tangible reality.

He added that the preparatory work for this workshop took hundreds of hours of tireless work, stressing that RACA seeks to be a support for the parties providing internal aid and the beneficiaries of the internal charitable assistance from members of the Qatari society.

Mubarak Al Hajri, deputy head of RACA's team in charge of coordination with the charitable and development sector, stressed the necessity of integrating efforts to coordinate charitable internal aid with Qatar National Vision 2030, and with successive national development strategies, especially the social protection strategy.

He also stressed the need for concerted efforts to accelerate the pace of achievement of all operational aspects related to the coordination of efforts addressed in the workshop.
