Seminar on Role of Literature in Raising Awareness of Cybersecurity at Doha International Book Fair
Doha, June 14 (QNA) - The Qatari Forum for Authors organized a seminar on the role of literary in rising awareness of cybersecurity as part of the cultural program of the 32nd Doha International Book Fair which is being held at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center under the theme "With Reading We Rise".
The seminar was held in the Cultural Salon, in cooperation with the National Cyber Security Agency.
During the seminar, Associate Professor of Computer Science Department at Qatar University Dr. Noora Fetais Al Marri discussed the concept of cybersecurity and its relationship to literature, and highlighted the importance of raising awareness about the quality of information received by young people and children.
She stressed the importance of preserving customs and traditions while using technology, and the role of literature in embodying reality.
She explained how cybersecurity can benefit from literature, and the phenomenon of cyberbullying to blackmail children and how to address it.
Meanwhile, Principal Scientist at Hamad Bin Khalifa University's Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) Dr. Issa Khalil shed light on the aspects of cybersecurity awareness, cyber intrusion, data leakage, artificial intelligence, and the importance of being aware of the negative consequences resulting from unethical technology use.
In a related context, the Cultural Salon hosted a session to discuss a novel for writer Dr. Abdulrahman bin Salem Al Kuwari, the former Minister of Health. There was a theatrical presentation before discussing the novel.
The 200-page novel discusses a number of social, political, intellectual and human rights issues in the Arab world. (QNA)
