Ministry of Endowments Sets Deadline for Submission of Theses Participating in Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al-Thani Local Endowment Prize
Doha, June 14 (QNA) - Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has set the deadline for the submission of the theses of those who have participated in the 2nd edition of Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al-Thani Local Endowment Prize under the theme of social media and its impact on cultural identity of the Qatari community.
The ministry outlined that Jan. 1, 2026, is the last date for submission of the theses, adding that the prize value will be QR 200,000.
Director of the Department of Research and Islamic Studies Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ghanem Al-Thani said the department has set many themes for the prize's topic in its second edition to control the theoretical framework of the topic, identify topic's orientation and draw the required dimensions for research, such as title explanation and definition, its equivalent terms and critical matters such as the psychological, social and media impacts of social media on the cultural identity and the role of individuals, community and the state in protecting cultural identity from adverse effects of social media.
Department of Research and Islamic Studies has previously taken a decision to establish a new section in Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al-Thani International Endowment Prize dedicated to Qatari researchers where they compete to present answers and practical solutions pertaining to topics that concern the Qatari community at cultural, intellectual, scientific, and social levels to encourage researchers to indulge in research and authorship for the service of community and its issues.
Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs established Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al-Thani International Endowment Prize in 1998 to be the first and largest endowment prize in the field of culture, Dawah, and Islamic thought in the State of Qatar. (QNA)
