PSA Highlights Most Important Statistical Changes in the Country during June 2023

Doha, August 01 (QNA) - The Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) has released the issue of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin. In this issue, the PSA highlighted the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during June 2023.

One of the most prominent changes in this issue is the drop in traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries. A total of 619 traffic cases were recorded during June 2023, showing a monthly decrease of 12.1% and an annual decrease by 17.0%.

The 114th issue of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin added that light injuries are accounted for most traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 94%, followed by severe injuries by 4%. However, 14 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2% of total traffic accidents cases.

The total number of registered new vehicles during June 2023 has reached 6593 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly decrease of 19.7% and showed an annual decrease of 17.7%.

As for tourism, the total number of inbound visitors reached about 282 thousand, recording a monthly decrease of 1.1% (compared to May 2023) but it recorded an annual increase of 93.6% (compared to June 2022). The highest number of visitors was from the GCC Countries at 42%. As for visitors by type of port, the visitors via Air make up the highest percentage with 60% of the total number of visitors.

The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has a slight decrease from 2.657 million at June 2022 to 2.656 million at June 2023 at an annual rate of change of 0.05%, and it decreased monthly by 11.5% (compared to May 2023).

Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2216 live births have been registered during June 2023. Also, a decrease in the total Qatari live births by 3.8% comparing to last month. On the other hand, 186 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 11.8% compared to May 2023.

Moreover, June 2023 witnessed a monthly increase of 19.8% of total marriage contracts and a monthly decrease of 17.0% of total divorce certificates compared to the previous month. The total number of marriage contracts reached 394 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 132 cases.

As for the Social Security statements, reached 79 Million Qatari Riyals in June 2023, for 14421 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly decrease of 0.8% for the value of social security and a monthly decrease of 0.1% for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.

One of the most prominent changes in this issue is the drop in the total numbers and values of properties sold at a monthly rate of 10.7% and 15.0% respectively (compared to May 2023) and at annual rate of 41.8% and 44.5% respectively (compared to June 2022). In addition, the total value of shares traded decreased at a monthly rate of 42.6% (compared to May 2023). Moreover, this month witnessed a decrease in the General Market Index (point) by 0.8% (compared to May 2023).

Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 641 permits during June 2023, recording a monthly decrease of 15.4% and an annual decrease of 15.1%.

As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about 699 Billion Qatari Riyals during June 2023, an annual increase of 3.6% compared with June 2022. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for 955 Billion Qatari Riyals during June 2023.

The figure has recorded an annual decrease of 2.9% compared to June 2022, when deposits recorded approximately 984 Billion Qatari Riyals. (QNA)
