Somali Authorities Ban Most of Social Media Apps
Mogadishu, August 21 (QNA) - Somali authorities issued a decision banning use of TikTok, Telegram and OneExBit apps in the country.
In a statement on Monday, Somali Minister of Communications and Technology Jama Hassan Khalif said Somalia has banned TikTok,Telegram and OneExBit apps, along with online betting site to prevent the proliferation of indecent contents and spooky Advertisements online.
He added that Internet companies have been directed to stop the aforementioned apps, because they are constantly used by what he called far right and deviated groups to mislead the public, affirming that he has given internet service providers a deadline until August 24 to enforce the ban.
