Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Commemorates its 93rd National Day Tomorrow

Doha, September 22 (QNA) - Under the slogan "We Dream and We Achieve," the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will celebrate its 93rd national day tomorrow to commemorate the unification of the Kingdom and its founding at the hands of King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud, may Allah have mercy on him.

On the seventeenth of Jumada Al Awwal 1351 AH, a royal decree was issued unifying all parts of the modern Saudi state under the name of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and King Abdulaziz chose Thursday, Jumada Al Awwal 21 of the same year, corresponding to Sep. 23, 1932 AD, as the day to announce the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is the Kingdom's National Day.

At that time, a young state was created applying Islamic Sharia law, spreading its tolerant teachings and human values in all parts of the world, spreading peace, goodness, and the blessed call, pursuing knowledge and development and moving steadily towards a better future for its people, the Islamic nation, and the entire world.

On this occasion, the people of the Kingdom and those living in its blessed land remember this glorious day in which the Saudi citizens became proud of their religion and patriotism under the wise government that set them as its first goal for development and empowerment to take them to advanced levels among the peoples of the world with all pride and dignity.

They also remember this occasion as they live today in a new reality full of huge development projects and wise vision projects that stand as a witness to the progress and advancement of the Kingdom on a par with the ranks of developed countries and a witness to a great entity characterized by growth, security, ambition, and determination to transform the impossible into a tangible reality on the land of their great homeland.

King Abdulaziz established his modern state on the basis of modernization and contemporary development, established several ministries, and diplomatic relations in accordance with officially recognized international political representation. Ambassadors, consuls, commissioners and ministers were appointed for this purpose, and upon the establishment of the League of Arab States in Cairo in 1365 AH / 1945 AD Saudi Arabia was among the founding countries.

King Abdulaziz worked to improve the Kingdom's social and economic situation, directing care and attention to education by opening schools and institutes, sending missions abroad, encouraging the printing of books - especially Arabic and Islamic books - ordering the focus on the Two Holy Mosques and expanding them and the provision of services for pilgrims.

In 1357 AH / 1938 AD, oil was extracted in the Eastern Province, which helped to increase the monetary wealth that contributed to the development, progress and prosperity of the Kingdom. The Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency was established after the Saudi currency began to take its natural place among the currencies of other countries.

The Kingdom bought agricultural machinery and distributed it to farmers to promote agriculture, built and paved land roads, built a railway to connect Riyadh with Dammam, linked the Kingdom with a network of wired and wireless communications, and laid the nucleus of civil aviation with the establishment of Saudi Arabian Airlines in 1945 AD, and the extended an oil pipeline from the Gulf to the Mediterranean ports, and opened the Saudi Radio in 1368 AH / 1949 AD. King Abdulaziz was concerned with providing health services, establishing hospitals and health centers in various cities of the Kingdom, and setting up a system for Saudi passports and other public facilities related to society.

King Abdulaziz laid the solid foundation upon which the kingdom was built, and the kings of the kingdom for generation, focused their efforts on building, learning, progress, and prosperity, in order for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to become at the forefront of nations.

The process of giving and building in the Kingdom has been continuing since its unification, All its kings continued on the right path and put the service of the Kingdom and its people a priority to build a strong, prosperous and advanced homeland until the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud took over the reins of power to complete what his predecessors had begun in creating a strong and modern homeland. 

The Kingdom's leadership and people are currently living in an atmosphere of celebration of the National Day, on the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of its founding, based on a sound approach and a lofty message, continuing the process of construction and development until this era under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his Crown Prince, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Kingdom has achieved high rates in terms of development, economic reform, growth, and expansion in various sectors. Today, it has become one of the twenty largest economies in the world, the largest and strongest economy in the Middle East, and the largest oil exporter in the world. The wheel of development did not stop at this point, as the Kingdom's Vision 2030 was approved, entitled to diversify non-oil sources of income.

During the last period, many vision plans were implemented, and their initiatives bore fruit with more success than expected, and economic reforms were implemented that had clear positive results. The launch of the Saudi Vision 2030 came as a cornerstone for a modern renaissance of the Kingdom that meets the high aspirations of the Saudi people, who view this vision with optimism and work to achieve it with passion because of its ambitious plans reflecting the aspirations of all segments of society and shape all aspects of their lives.

The Kingdom's Vision 2030 paid great attention to tourism, as it approved a number of decisions to develop this sector. The Kingdom also established a number of huge and ambitious projects, including the NEOM project, the Qiddiya project, the Red Sea project, and the AMAALA project, and attracted the largest investors in the sector of building commercial complexes in the region as well as organized its tourist seasons in all regions, the most important of which is Riyadh Season.

Among the established facts imposing themselves when evaluating the Saudi experience is that the strong will, sincere determination and firm desire to advance the process of construction and progress is a distinct and prominent characteristic of the leaders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since the era of its founder, King Abdulaziz.

The Kingdom's journey represents rich stages full of achievements that were embodied in consolidating the foundations of development in the Kingdom, and building a solid national economic base that placed it in the ranks of productive and exporting economic powers, in addition to enabling the Saudi person to catch up with development in the world thanks to the comprehensive renaissance achieved in the Kingdom, especially in the scientific and educational aspect.

This position has contributed to activating the Kingdom's role in the international group, whether through the United Nations, which it participated in its founding, or through the international institutions emanating from it and other international bodies and organizations.

The Kingdom's development included all sectors according to well-studied plans and concrete practical steps on the ground, and set specific dates for other projects to be a tributary of growth and development.

From a political standpoint, Saudi Arabia today is considered an essential pillar for establishing security and peace regionally and globally, owing to its international great status and its wise policy, which has achieved great successes that are credited to the Kingdom in the balance of power and the great diplomatic work it is undertaking.

Saudi Arabia is an important regional and global political center, as it has hosted a number of important political summits. The great economic power strengthened the Kingdom at the level of the global economy as it is a member of the G20 and an important player in global energy markets.

Tt has worked wisely to balance energy markets in the most difficult circumstances as recognized by the world, especially during the Coronavirus pandemic. 

The Kingdom has paid great attention to the education sector and undertaken a significant and qualitative scientific renaissance, with more than six million students at all educational levels receiving free educational services provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to its citizens at all levels through thousands of schools, 28 universities and a number of technical and administrative institutes across the Kingdom, in addition to specific plans for foreign scholarships.

Since its establishment, the Kingdom has paid attention to public health which witnessed great development in health and treatment services. The number of hospitals reached 274 government hospitals in different specialties, with a capacity of more than 53 thousand beds.

The Kingdom attaches great attention to the transportation sector, especially with its large area and important geographical location. The roadways connecting major cities have reached 66 66,000 kilometers. Saudi Arabia has 29 airports, including five international airports, 13 regional airports, and 10 local airports, in addition to nine sea ports and railway lines extending over 8,000 kilometers.

Saudi Arabia is also making great efforts to preserve the environment and combat climate change by establishing a number of terrestrial and marine natural reserves and presenting the Saudi Green initiative and Middle East Green initiative.

The Kingdom had announced its goal to reach net-zero in 2060 through a so-called "Carbon Circular Economy" approach, as well as its intention to use clean and sustainable energy.

As the people of the Kingdom celebrate today on the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of their country's national day, they look forward with confidence to further achievement and prosperity for their country, an embodiment of the strong will shown by their wise leadership to achieve the well-being of its citizens and everyone who lives on that blessed land and to move forward in the process of building and development, with the Kingdom's ambitious vision providing ample opportunities for a better tomorrow and a bright future.

Various Saudi regions and cities prepared to celebrate the 93rd national day under the slogan "We Dream and We Achieve," which was inspired by the dreams that were accomplished and turned from a dream into a reality in all aspects of the lives of the Kingdom's residents.

They were clearly reflected in the huge projects based on the Kingdom's Vision 2030, consolidating its strength and position to continue providing its important and pivotal role at all levels.

The celebrations include many shows, most notably the "We're Racing Dreams" show of military and civil aircraft that will be held over Riyadh, Taif, Al-Baha, Asir and Tabuk on September 23, preceded by a similar show over the northern Jeddah Corniche on September 20, followed by another over Al-Khobar Corniche on September 27, in addition to fireworks displays in more than 15 different locations in the Kingdom, as well as many art exhibitions, poetry festivals, plays, chants, paintings, and publications, which also include boys’ and girls’ schools, with the aim of promoting the values of belonging to the homeland and loyalty to its leadership.
