Doha, September 27 (QNA) - Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), a Qatar Foundation partner university, announced that it has achieved the highest student enrollment rate since the opening of its branch in Doha in 2004. The number of students enrolled in the academic year 2023-2024 reached 472 students from 61 countries, 40 percent of whom are Qatari citizens.
CMU-Q offers four undergraduate degree programs in biological sciences, business administration, computer science and information systems. In addition to the major programs, students choose from a variety of electives in the arts and sciences. CMU-Q students are also encouraged to explore electives at the other Qatar Foundation partner universities.
The university is also offering a new joint minor, Multidisciplinary Energy Studies, along with Georgetown University in Qatar and Texas A&M University in Qatar. CMU-Q continues to offer the Media and Politics minor in collaboration with Georgetown University in Qatar and Northwestern University in Qatar.
The Dean of CMU-Q Michael Trick said that Education City offers a unique experience, students have opportunities to study, research and collaborate with students from other universities here. Trick expressed his happiness in seeing many Education City students, including those from CMU-Q, make the most of the multiversity experience and cross-register at the partner universities.
Applications at CMU-Q are open for students beginning their university studies in August 2024. (QNA)
