Doha, October 04 (QNA) - With its dark purple and silver color scheme and its exquisite design symbolizing the essence of the Lusail International Circuit, the new design of the Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix Formula 1 Trophy combines artistic elements of speed, competition, and Qatar's rich heritage.

The trophy, weighing up to 3.6 kilograms and standing at 55 centimeters tall, will be contested for by 22 racers representing 10 different teams in the Qatar Grand Prix, which will take place under the spotlight at the Lusail International Circuit from October 6th to 8th.

The design of the trophy dedicated to each round of the 23 rounds in the Formula 1 World Championship is a special responsibility for the hosting circuit, with no involvement from the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile or Formula 1 itself.

The design of the Qatar Grand Prix trophy is a distinctive modern representation, drawing inspiration from the speed and competition that characterize Formula 1 races, as well as incorporating elements of Qatar's rich culture.

The trophy, designed by the renowned Italian design and architecture company Pininfarina over three months, is inspired by the thrilling dynamics of Formula 1 races, resulting in a complete work of art that embodies the essence of the recently redesigned Lusail International Circuit.

A group of skilled artisans with extensive experience in handcrafted artistic work collaborated on the trophy's design project, creating an artistic masterpiece adorned with creative undulating curves, imitating the captivating shape of Qatar's sand dunes.

They used dark purple-colored clay and resin with captivating geometric formations, reminiscent of the patterns used in traditional Qatari embroidery, adding historical depth and aesthetic elements that come to life.

The carefully crafted satin finishes in its distinctive silver color give the Qatar Grand Prix trophy a sense of luxury and elegance, reflecting the unique style of the new design while preserving many elements used in the 2021 Qatar Grand Prix trophy.

The magical blend of various elements used in the trophy's design successfully conveys different aspects of Qatari culture, as well as the identity of the Lusail International Circuit as a hub for outstanding motorsports competitions.

Advanced techniques such as laser printing were used in the trophy's design process, helping to present intricate artistic touches of Qatari culture while maintaining a modern and contemporary design.

The new design of the trophy retains some elements used in the 2021 version but offers an innovative and distinctive perspective on the culture of growing and expanding motorsports in Qatar, symbolizing the integration of Qatari heritage, modernity, and the technology used in racing.

This unique and one-of-a-kind trophy will be awarded to the winner of the Qatar Airways Grand Prix Formula 1 - Qatar 2023, held at the renowned Lusail International Circuit, which will celebrate the fusion of speed and Qatar's motorsports heritage in the region.

Formula 1 fans attending the Qatar Grand Prix will have the opportunity to get up close to the new trophy of the Lusail International Circuit and capture commemorative photos with a replica displayed in the fan area. (QNA)
