Doha, October 07 (QNA) - The State of Qatar has expressed deep concern over the developments in the Gaza Strip and called on all parties to halt the escalation, calm down and exercise maximum restraint.

In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held Israel solely responsible for the ongoing escalation due to its continuous violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, including the recent repeated incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli police.

The ministry emphasized the urgent need for the international community to compel Israel to cease its blatant violations of international law, abide by international legitimacy resolutions, respect the historical rights of the Palestinian people, and prevent these events from becoming a pretext for igniting a new disproportionate war against Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's unwavering stance on the justice of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. (QNA)
