The Office Exercise Component of Watan Exercise-2023 Launches

Doha, October 31 (QNA) - The office exercise component of the Watan Exercise-2023 was launched by the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) during a press conference.

The Watan Exercise-2023, to be held from November 6-8, 2023, aims to test readiness in hosting major regional and international events such as sporting events, conferences, and tournaments, under normal and emergency circumstances.

Present at the launch, HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Abdullah bin Khalaf bin Hattab Al Kaabi, along with a lineup of representatives of concerned authorities.

Assistant commander of Lekhwiya Force for Logistics and Administration, Commander of Watan Exercise-2023 Media Cell Staff Col. Mubarak Shareeda Al Kaabi said that Watan Exercise-2023 will coordinate and integrate task roles and responsibilities among participating entities (military, civil, and private sector), as well as measure the speed of response to possible incidents and situations based on scenarios of all types of potential risks and challenges put by security specialists and experts.

He added that the exercise would also enhance close cooperation, exchange expertise, and set best procedures among the participating parties.

Staff Col. Al Kaabi added that more than 30 civil institutions including the private sector, along with Security and military authorities will part take in the exercise, which will lead to positive outcomes in terms of enhancing the command, control, and communication chains in accordance with best practices and procedures.

In turn, Commander of the Command, Control, and Scenario Preparation and Execution Cell of the Watan Exercise-2023" Maj. Muhammed Ahmed Abdullah reviewed the exercise's general timeline, as well as touching on scenario planning and the exercise's stages in both its office and field components.

The launch presented a video demonstrating Watan Exercises of previous, which yielded many positive results and lessons which were then utilized during the security and public safety plans in coordination with civil authorities, which contributed for the success of securing and hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
