Al Noor Center for Blind Celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Doha, December 03 (QNA) - Al Noor Center for the Blind, one of the centers of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family, celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), which falls on Dec. 3 of each year.
By celebrating the IDPD, the Center aims to increase awareness of the rights of people with visual disabilities. Al Noor Center specializes in caring for and rehabilitating people with visual disabilities, and its various therapeutic and educational services contribute to enriching their capabilities to integrate them more easily into society.
Executive Director of Al Noor Center Mishal Abdullah Al Nuaimi said that the Center was keen to organize a campaign aimed at increasing awareness in society of the role of people with visual disabilities and their valuable contributions, as well as work to provide comprehensive support to people with multiple disabilities in order to improve their quality of life, based on the Center's vision and commitment to building an inclusive society.
Al Noor Center for the Blind works to empower people with visual disabilities by caring for blind children over the age of three.
It contributes to providing services to them in the fields of education and rehabilitation, as well as spreading community awareness of their issues and rights for them to have a more independent life and enhance their integration into society.
