Doha, December 10 (QNA) - HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani met on Sunday with HE Speaker of the House of Representatives of Jordan Ahmed Al Safadi on the sidelines of the Doha Forum 2023.

The two sides discussed during the meeting trade and economic cooperation, mutual investments, and the private sector's role in enhancing trade exchange.

Speaker of the House of Representatives of Jordan praised the strong brotherly relations between Qatar and Jordan and expressed the common desire to develop these relations commercially and economically, as Jordan is aiming to increase the volume of Qatari investments in Jordan.

HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber praised the close relations between the Qatar Chamber and the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and noted that the two sides are working diligently to enhance cooperation in various fields.

HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber also underlined the important role played by the Qatar-Jordan Business Council in enhancing cooperation between businessmen from the two countries and opening horizons towards more commercial and economic cooperation, while noting that trade exchange between Qatar and Jordan is still below the desired level and there is a desire on both sides to raise it to higher levels.

Meanwhile, HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani also met with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The meeting touched on cooperation relations between the two countries, especially in the areas of trade and economics, the investment climate in the two countries and ways to promote mutual investments.

The meeting also touched on the importance of establishing the Qatar-Uzbekistan Business Council in order to enhance cooperation between businessmen in the two countries.

HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan expressed his country's welcome to Qatari investments, noting that Qatari investments will not only be directed to Uzbekistan's market but also to markets of the neighboring countries.

For his part, HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber said that Qatari companies are interested in investing in sectors such as tourism, real estate and food security.

Additionally, HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani met with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal Narayan Prakash Saud.

The meeting discussed cooperation relations between the two countries in economic and commercial fields, investment opportunities and climate on both sides, as well as the private sector's role in boosting trade between Qatar and Nepal.

HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal Narayan Prakash Saud said that his country is eager to attract Qatari investments, indicating that there are plenty of opportunities in various sectors, particularly in agriculture.

HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani praised the close relations between both nations, highlighting the Nepalese community in Qatar and their contribution to the state's development.
