Doha, December 11 (QNA) - The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) signed a charter to join the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), on the sidelines of the Doha Forum, held under the slogan "Building Shared Futures".

The charter was endorsed by HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai and HE Secretary-General of the DCO Deemah Al Yahya.

This charter underscores Qatar's dedication, as embodied by MCIT, to advancing the digital economy and promoting global collaboration in innovation, empowerment, and expediting digital transformation.

HE Al Mannai emphasized the importance of signing the charter, stating, "The signing of the charter to join the Digital Cooperation Organization contributes to enhancing Qatar's role as a key player on the international level in the field of technology and digital innovation. It enables the exchange of experiences for digital technology startups and artificial intelligence, bridging cooperation and communication to allow youth and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and knowledge in the digital realms at both the regional and international levels." HE Al Yahya welcomed Qatar’s signing the DCO Charter, emphasized Qatar’s thought leadership and commitment to digital transformation, saying: "Qatar stands as a key global force in leveraging digital innovation for sustainable socio-economic development.

"The signing of the DCO Charter cements our mutual commitment to enabling digital prosperity for all. The DCO provides a global platform for digital cooperation, and together with Qatar, we will facilitate the growth and development of a sustainable and inclusive global digital economy," Her Excellency added.
