WhatsApp Web Allows Sharing Statuses with Contacts
Washington, December 26 (QNA) - The instant messaging platform, WhatsApp, launched a new feature allowing users to share statuses with contacts via the computer browser version (WhatsApp Web).
The new feature was spotted in the accounts of participants of the (WhatsApp Experimental Web Version program), which indicates that it will soon be launched for all users, as well as being made available in the desktop application on Windows and Mac systems.
WhatsApp Web will allow sharing texts, pictures, and video clips as statuses with contacts directly through the browser, and the statuses will remain protected with end-to-end encryption to maintain privacy.
This feature will be useful for users who spend long time on computers, as they will be able to share statuses directly from their devices via the browser, or later the desktop application, without the need to use a smartphone.
WhatsApp launched the Status feature in 2017, which is currently considered one of the main features of the application, as it allows users to share different types of content with contacts for 24 hours before disappearing automatically. The platform made the option to share statuses limited only to mobile application; it was not possible to share statuses from the computer.
These new changes come within the framework of the platforms plan to develop the Status section, as it is also testing other options, like sharing statuses with high quality and changing the display of statuses in the Updates tab. (QNA)
