Doha, December 31 (QNA) - Qatar's national football team defeated their Cambodian counterpart 3-0 in a friendly match within the Al-Adam preparatory camp ahead of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, which Doha will host from Jan. 12 to Feb. 10.

The Qatari team three goals were scored by striker Al Moez Ali.

Qatar's football team will conclude preparations for the continental cup by taking on Jordan on Jan. 5.

Qatar coach Bartolome Marquez Lopez was keen on taking advantage from this friendly experience against the Cambodian team - ranked 179th in the world - to determine the level of players as well as engage others to name the appropriate squad for the opening match of the continental event on Jan. 12 at Lusail Stadium.

Lopez is expected to announce in the coming hours the final list of 26 players who will participate in the tournament.

Hosts and defending champions Qatar will begin their campaign to defend their title on Jan. 12 by facing Lebanon in Group A which also includes China and Tajikistan. (QNA)
