3rd Doha International Arabian Horse Show Preparations Completed
Doha, January 03 (QNA) - Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) announced the completion of arrangements for the 3rd Doha international Arabian Horse Show, which will kick off Friday.
To be held in the QEF outdoor arena, the four-day show will bring together 400 horses from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, and Qatar.
The championship is a qualifier for the upcoming Katara and Souq Waqif international championships. The first day will be devoted to the finals' qualifiers for one-year-old and two-year-old fillies.
On the second day, qualifiers will be held for one-year-old, three-year-old, and two- and three-year-old colts and fillies. On the third day, qualifiers for colts and mares of different ages will be held.
In the first period of the fourth and final day, the qualifying rounds will be organized, followed by the finals that will determine the champions in the various categories, and the distribution of the prize money for the tournament.
The championship organizing committee allocated prizes of QR 3.915 million to be distributed to the winners, whether in the finals for the first three places for all categories and medals or the prizes allocated for each category in the qualifiers for the finals, distributed among the winners of the first five places during the qualifiers.
Director of QREC horse shows Majid Nasser Al Kaabi stressed that the championship is part of the schedule of horse shows organized by the club during the 2023-2024 season taking into consideration the gains of the owners participating in previous local championships from the current one in order to prepare their horses for major international competitions, including the Doha International show.
Al Kaabi added that the 3rd Doha international Arabian Horse Show is classified B international, and will include 8 judges certified by the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO). (QNA)
