Doha, January 08 (QNA) - The Shura Council held its weekly ordinary session at Tamim bin Hamad Hall at the council's headquarters under the chairmanship of HE Speaker of the Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim.

At the onset of the session, the council expressed its strong denunciation and dismay over the inflammatory remarks made by Israeli officials to displace Gaza population and rebuild settlements in the Strip.

The council affirmed that such reprehensible remarks are rejected by all free peoples of the world and represent a violation of international humanitarian law, stressing that such remarks tantamount to collective punishment and forced displacement that contravene the humanitarian principles and values, as well as international laws.

Such remarks come as an extension for the policy Israel has been practicing through occupying lands and displacing their population, the council pointed out, wondering at the same time, about the role of international community and the United Nations agencies in countering such violations, calling on parliaments of the world and international parliamentary unions to essentially take a position regarding this matter.

Thereafter, HE Secretary-General of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Fadala read out the agenda of the session, where the minutes of the previous session were endorsed.

During the session, the council endorsed a draft law issuing the internal regulation of the Shura Council after reviewing the memorandum of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers on it, in addition to discussing articles of the draft law by Their Excellencies members of the Shura council.

The council approved the draft law on the regulation of the real estate registration in its amended version after reviewing the report of the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee on it, in addition to discussing the articles of the draft law by Their Excellencies members of the council.

The draft law, in question, included new provisions on registering electronic transactions, along with new provisions on sorting and consolidating real estate, as well as the provisions of establishing the real estate registration committee and determining its purviews accordingly.

In addition, the council approved the request of HE Ali bin Ahmad Al Kaabi to join the membership of the Services and the Public Utilities Committee. The council also approved the request to extend the operation of the interim committee to study the increasing divorce rates. (QNA)
