Doha, January 20 (QNA) - Qatar Charity has signed a cooperation and partnership agreement with Expo 2023 Doha, becoming a charity partner for Expo under the terms of the agreement.

The signing of the agreement took place within the framework of the cooperation between the Ministry of Municipality and Qatar Charity.

Under the agreement, Qatar Charity provided various donation methods in Expo for the purpose of funding humanitarian projects in the field of environment.

The agreement was signed by CEO's assistant for the Resources Development and Media Sector at Qatar Charity Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo, and Secretary-General of Expo 2023 Doha Mohammed Ali Al Khouri.

Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo expressed his happiness at signing the agreement with Expo, highlighting that this agreement strengthens the role of humanitarian work within the state of Qatar and beyond.

He added that, under the agreement, Qatar Charity has been given the opportunity to promote an environmental project in line with the Expo's theme, "Green Desert, Better Environment". He indicated that the selected project "Seawater Desalination in Somalia" will offer solutions for producing fresh, clean, and potable water, provide a safe and sustainable water source, and contribute to alleviating the suffering of children and women and reducing diseases resulting from the use of contaminated water.

Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo noted that, according to the agreement, Qatar Charity has provided means of donations throughout the expo, as the fixed collection boxes are available in different locations, in addition to payment machines. He stated that a QR code is displayed on screens in Expo to promote the project.

For his part, Mohammed Ali Al Khouri expressed his joy at Expo joining Qatar Charity's "Charity Partner" program, hoping that this partnership would be fruitful and contribute to the valuable work carried out by Qatar Charity.

Al Khouri regarded Qatar Charity as a pioneer in charitable and humanitarian work in the country, commending its efforts worldwide in areas such as sponsorships and the implementation of development projects, including the construction of orphanages and mosques. (QNA)
