Brussels, February 02 (QNA) - The Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today the summoning of the Israeli ambassador to Brussels in protest against the bombing of the Belgian Development Agency (Enabel) building in Gaza City.

The ministry affirmed its intention to raise the issue of compensation for the damage to the infrastructure of projects funded by the European Union.

In a statement, the ministry said that attacks on civilian infrastructure violate the principles of international humanitarian law, adding that all parties must adhere to them.

Belgium will bring up the issue of compensation for the damage to the infrastructure of projects funded by the European Union and its member states at the next European consultations.

The Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its demand for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, unhindered and permanent access to humanitarian aid, and the resumption of the peace process and political negotiations that could lead to a two-state solution, considering it the only way out of this conflict.
