Doha, February 03 (QNA) - Japan team coach Hajime Moriyasu expressed his deep regret over losing to Iran 1-2 in the match played at Education City Stadium and bidding farewell to the tournament.

Speaking at the press conference following the match, Moriyasu highlighted that his team performed well during the first round, but things changed in the second round which resulted in the knock-out from the championship after the loss.

He congratulated Iran and their coach for their victory, adding that he was very sorry to leave the tournament at this stage as his intention was not to let down the fans.

Moriyasu added that his team were unfortunate to waste the chances, affirming that if those chances had been taken advantage of well, things would have been different now.

Japan's attack in the second round lose balance with their performance being plummeted, he acknowledged, emphasizing that he would review all the mistakes to upgrade the abilities of his players if they wanted to participate in the major tournaments. (QNA)
