World Aquatics Championships - Doha 2024/ Tunisian Swimmer Mellouli to QNA: Great Chances for Arab Champions
Doha, February 07 (QNA) - The Tunisian swimmer and former global Olympic champion Oussama Mellouli said he is delighted to participate in the World Aquatics Championships - Doha 2024, affirming that the there are great chances for the Arab champions by winning medals or qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The World Aquatics Championships - Doha 2024 is being hosted by Qatar for the first time in the Middle East region with the participation of 2600 athletes from both genders representing 201 countries until Feb. 18.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Mellouli, the winner of two gold medals, said this is really a very important event at all levels of the Aquatics Championships with the presence of many swimmers and an elite of global champions.
The current tournament earns an overwhelming significance since it is the launching pad for the participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics, Mellouli added, affirming that all participating swimmers aspire to have the chance to qualify for the Olympics.
Mellouli, 40, added that the chances of the Arab champions are either to win colored medals in this critical venue or have the chance to qualify for the Olympics, indicating that the short swimming contests are due on Feb. 11. (QNA)
