Doha, February 10 (QNA) - The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) announced Saturday great international participation in HH the Amir Sword Festival 2024, which will be held from February 15-17, with a number of exciting, strong rounds taking place and the participation of horses from Qatar and beyond.

The QREC also unveiled today names of the most important horses that will participate in the festival in both HH the Amir's Trophy from the first category for purebred horses and the HH the Amir's Sword from the first category for purebred Arabian horses. Title holders in last year's edition will participate in both categories. In HH the Amir's Trophy, 3 Japanese horses will participate for the first time, as one horse from Japan took part in the past, in addition to the participation of Hong Kong horse Russian Emperor, which is looking to maintain the title won last year. Moreover, several horses from abroad will partake in different categories of the festival.

For the Golden Saif race, there is Abbes of Wathnan Racing along with Al Ghadeer, the king of Al Shaqab Racing. The competition between them will be great as Al Ghadeer will strive to win the sword to complete a triple crown which the horse that wins the summit races gets - The Qatar International Stakes race at Goodwood in United Kingdom, the Qatar World Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses in France, and the Sword of HH the Amir at the most prestigious festival. Ebraz had previously won the triple crown several years ago. (QNA)
