Doha, February 10 (QNA) - The Qatari football team dominated the 2023 Asian Cup individual awards, after winning the second title in a row, after defeating its Jordanian counterpart, 3-1, in the final held at the Lusail Stadium.

Qatar team won the fair play award in the tournament, and Akram Afif won the Most Valuable Player and also picked up the Yili Top Scorer Award after scoring 8 goals.

Qatar national team goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham also won the tournament's best goalkeeper award, the Golden Glove, Barsham saved three penalties in the tournament, leading the Qatari team to the semi-finals, and also kept a clean sheet in three matches.

Akram Afif was the only top scorer in the 2023 Asian Cup, after scoring three penalties in the final, ahead of Iraqi Ayman Hussein, who scored six goals. (QNA)
