Doha, February 20 (QNA) - The state visit of HH Amir of the sisterly State of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Doha on Tuesday, has garnered widespread media and political attention in Kuwait. This visit is seen as a reflection of the spirit of love, solidarity, and interconnectedness between the leaderships of both countries and their brotherly peoples.

Qatari-Kuwaiti relations are deep-rooted in history. The leaderships and peoples of both nations consistently move in firm steps with strong conviction regarding the importance of these relations. They believe in the continuity of their growth and development in various fields, contributing to the mutual interests of both sides.

In this context, political analyst and professor of political science at Kuwait University Dr. Faisal Abu Sulaib, and Kuwaiti journalist and political analyst Dahem Al Qahtani emphasized the significant importance of the historical visit of HH Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the State of Qatar today. They noted the widespread anticipation and extensive follow-up of this visit on official, popular, and media levels in both countries and the region, as the visit is considered a vivid and sincere embodiment of the distinguished relations between Doha and Kuwait in all their dimensions throughout time.

In exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), both analysts highlighted the special attention given to this historic visit, the first of its kind by HH the Amir of the State of Kuwait to the State of Qatar, as a true reflection of the unique Qatari-Kuwaiti ties. They emphasized the strong bonds of brotherhood and affection connecting the leaderships and peoples of both countries within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Both leaders firmly believe in the necessity of strengthening Gulf unity and cohesion, especially during a time of rapid global changes and numerous challenges that necessitate reinforcing Gulf solidarity on both bilateral and collective levels, they said Dr. Faisal Abu Sulaib said that the visit of HH the Amir of the State of Kuwait to Doha falls within the framework of external visits that HH undertakes, focusing notably on the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as His Highness recognizes the importance of this system in ensuring Gulf national security and supporting the security of the State of Kuwait, as well as its economic integration with the GCC states.

He added that the visit undoubtedly reaffirms the deep-rooted relationship between the two sisterly countries, as the State of Qatar holds regional and even international importance, and Kuwait seeks to benefit from the successful Qatari experiences in human and urban development, education, and infrastructure projects.

Dr. Abu Sulaib continued that the distinctive role of Qatar's foreign policy, especially regarding its mediation role in resolving regional conflicts, notably in Afghanistan or the ongoing events in the Gaza Strip, will be a priority in the talks between the two countries.

For his part, the Kuwaiti journalist and political analyst Dahem Al Qahtani described Qatari-Kuwaiti relations as distinguished, with historical communication and deep-rooted ties.

He told QNA that the relations between Qatar and Kuwait are characterized by excellence, historical communication, and firm ties on both official and popular levels. Since the establishment of both states, communication has never ceased, with various historical instances reflecting this ongoing interaction, he added.

He pointed out that Kuwaitis proudly recall and appreciate Qatar's advanced stance during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, as Qatar dedicated all its resources to support Kuwait's just right. This support manifested in the heroic deeds of the Qatari Army in the battle to liberate the city of Khafji and later in participating in the liberation of Kuwait.

Al Qahtani affirmed that the Doha-Kuwait route is currently witnessing an increase in the number of travelers on both sides, especially after Qatar's remarkable success in organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup.

The visit, he said, is expected to enhance industrial cooperation between the two countries, particularly regarding Kuwaiti government and private companies investing in projects presented by the Qatari government to investors.

Additionally, the visit is anticipated to focus on strengthening the investment climate between business sectors in both countries, achieving the goals of GCC states in promoting joint mega projects, he noted.

Regarding the visit's importance in supporting the Gulf Cooperation Council's march, Al Qahtani said that the State of Kuwait and the State of Qatar play crucial roles in stabilizing the Council as a unified and sustainable system, despite political circumstances and occasional disputes.

He further emphasized the visit's significance in coordinating positions on regional and international developments, pointing out that the State of Kuwait excels as a mediator in multiple regional crises, while the State of Qatar plays a significant and vital role in easing global tensions, considering it one of the most important countries in the field of peace mediation.

Dahem Al Qahtani affirmed that the visit of HH the Amir of the State of Kuwait to Qatar will explore ways to collaboratively activate international mediation roles, aiming to halt Israeli aggression on Gaza, noting that Qatar has been actively involved in such mediation efforts since the beginning of the crisis, and positive results are anticipated.
