Ramallah, March 11 (QNA) - The persistent commission of the crime of genocide and starvation war against the population of the Gaza Strip have claimed hundreds of lives on daily basis, most of them are children and women, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said on Monday.
Shtayyeh called on the international community to urgently stop this war, adding that the Israeli crime in Gaza is unfolding daily with the emergence of horrendous images, primarily the use of starvation against the Palestinian population and the mode of airdropping meals, some of them have been morphed into a killing tool due to drawbacks in the method of airdropping.
The only solution is to primarily halt the war, delivering the assistance to Palestinians through crossings and ports to be directly overseen by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Shtayyeh stressed.
He urged the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement to visit the male and female detainees in the Israeli prisons, highlighting that the brutal acts happening in those prisons require an urgent intervention to stop them, in addition to forming an international investigation commission accordingly.
The Holy month of Ramadan begins this year, while the people of the Gaza Strip are starving and bleeding due to the crimes of genocide that are relentlessly continuing, at a time the calls for the intervention of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) are rising to stop those heinous crimes, Shtayyeh pointed out.
