Tokyo, May 13 (QNA) - The organizing committee of the 20th World Athletics Championships (Tokyo 2025) revealed on Monday the logo for the championship, which will be held from Sep. 13-21, 2025.
The design was chosen by a committee that included design experts, athletes, and a number of community members, who voted for the winning design after a competition that included 368 designs.
According to the organizing committee, the winning design includes the phrase (The World - Tokyo - Communication) in reference to the Japanese capital's embrace of athletes from all over the world, and it also reflects Japanese civilization and traditions.
Tokyo surpassed the cities of Singapore, Nairobi and Silesia (Poland), which applied to host the tournament in its 20th edition.
This is the second time that Tokyo has hosted the World Championship, after the first in 1991. (QNA)
