Moscow, May 31 (QNA) - The losses inflicted upon the Ukrainian forces during May 2024, reached over 35,000 military men, along with over 2,700 military equipment, said Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.
Speaking at a meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in the presence of regional defense ministers in Kazakhstan, Belousov added that the Russian forces intercepted over 1000 drones and more than 300 of different model missiles during May.
He pointed out that the Russian forces seized control over 28 new towns during the same month, adding that the Russian soldiers forced the Ukrainian forces to retreat of between 8 and 9 kilometers in Kharkiv city.
Since the breakout of the military operation in Ukraine, there has been conflicting news about the losses inflicted upon the two parties to the crisis, as each one of them claimed to have inflicted heavy losses upon the other party without independently confirming the veracity of this information, while the fighting drags on.
