New York, July 22 (QNA) - The United Nations Childrens Fund (UNICEF) has monitored a 250 percent increase in the number of children killed in the occupied West Bank, since the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7.
UNICEF explained in a statement that 143 children have been killed in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since October 2023, which represents an increase of about 250 percent compared to the previous nine months.
UNICEF reported that the first nine months of 2023 witnessed the death of 41 Palestinian children.
In the same context, it indicated that more than 440 Palestinian children were injured by live ammunition during the period that followed October 2023, as Israeli attacks escalated in the West Bank and East Jerusalem coinciding with the outbreak of the aggression against Gaza.
Since October 7, the number of martyrs in the occupied West Bank has risen to 578 martyrs, in addition to about 5,350 wounded, and the number of arrests in the West Bank has risen to about 9,600 cases. (QNA)
