Cairo, July 29 (QNA) - The Arab League has issued a grave warning about the potential expansion of military activities in Lebanon, cautioning that the region could be drawn into a large-scale war. The League emphasized that any escalation poses a significant threat to the security and stability of the entire region.

In a statement released today, Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, expressed full solidarity with Lebanon and condemned the recent Israeli threats. He also underscored the necessity of investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident in the occupied Majdal Shams in Syria.

Aboul Gheit reiterated that the Arab League has consistently warned about the adverse repercussions of ongoing Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip. He highlighted the risks of this conflict expanding into a broader military confrontation, which could lead to severe regional instability.

The Secretary-General stressed the importance of adhering to Security Council Resolution 1701 in its entirety. He announced his plans to engage in multiple international dialogues aimed at containing the situation and preventing further escalation, in hopes of averting a widespread conflict that could destabilize the region.

The Israeli actions have escalated against towns and villages in southern Lebanon, coinciding with their relentless aggression in the Gaza Strip since October 7. This aggression has resulted in numerous civilian casualties, injuries, and the displacement of thousands of families from their homes. (QNA)
