Doha, August 01 (QNA) - Al Rayyan SC signed footballer David Garcia from Spanish club Osasuna to join the first football team for three seasons until the summer of 2027.

The Spaniard began his football career in 2012 with Osasuna and progressed through its various age groups until he reached the first team in 2018.

The 30-year-old player played 305 matches with Osasuna in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and making 3 assists.

Garcia played three matches in the qualifiers for the UEFA Euro 2024 which was held recently in Germany with Spain claiming the winning title.

Al Rayyan SC had signed Belgian Julien De Sart until 2027, as well as Swedish coach Poya Asbaghi from Al Shamal SC, replacing Portuguese Leonardo Jardim whose contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Al Rayyan SC held its abroad training camp for the new 2024-25 season in the Netherlands from July 10 to 29, during which they played five different friendly matches.

The team is set to kick off their journey in the 2024-25 Qatar Stars League (Ooredoo Stars League) by facing Umm Salal SC on August 9 at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.

They are also preparing to participate in the group stage of the AFC Champions League Elite. (QNA)
