Doha, September 28 (QNA) - The draw of 14th Al Galayel Championship for Traditional Hunting for 2025 was held, unveiling that 16 teams divided in 4 groups will take part in the tournament.
Scheduled to be held from January 29 to February 20, 2025 in Al Eraiq Reserve, the championship will be held under the patronage of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) and with the support of the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM).
The championship's draw was held in the presence of Katara General Manager Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Al Galayel Tournament for Traditional Hunting Khalid bin Mohammed Al Maadeed as well as team leaders and participants.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Al Galayel Tournament for Traditional Hunting said that the new edition of the championship will be the strongest since the competition is between only four teams in each group, allowing for more competition and achieving more points for the participants.
He pointed out that the committee is keen on highlighting the professionalism of Qatari hunters, as the history of the championship over 14 years has consolidated their ability to take risks and confirm their presence in traditional hunting.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee thanked the entities supporting the tournament, most notably DAAM and the ministries and institutions of the state, which joined hands to ensure the success of the tournament.
The first-place team will receive a cash prize of QR one million. The second place winner will get QR 700,000, while the third place will win QR 500,000. An amount of QR100,000 is also awarded to the team that qualifies for the final of the tournament, while the award for the best press coverage for local newspapers is QR 10,000. (QNA)
