Ministry of Culture Organizes Lecture on Identity at Algiers International Book Fair
Algiers, November 10 (QNA) - The Ministry of Culture organized Sunday a seminar on the speaking identity and the silent identity: the controversy of identities in the Arab world, as part of the State of Qatar's participation as the guest of honor at the 27th edition of the Algiers International Book Fair.
During the lecture, Director of the Director of Ibn Khaldon Center for Humanities and Social Sciences at Qatar University Dr. Nayef bin Nahar said that identity makes a person feel connected and belonging and is also a tool for unity and solidarity among people.
Ben Nahar pointed out that the issue of identity is ambiguous to some people, noting that the idea of identity is not new, but rather has existed since ancient times. He also addressed linking the definition of identity to the global reality and the injustice experienced by the Gaza Strip.
The activities of the Algiers International Book Fair continue until Nov. 16, with the participation of 1,007 publishers from 40 Arab and foreign countries. (QNA)
