83 Arab Students Take Exam of Fourth Arab Mathematics Olympiad
Doha, November 12 (QNA) - Eighty-three male and female students from the countries participating in the Fourth Arab Mathematics Olympiad took the Olympiad exam, which consists of four questions covering specific areas in mathematics, including algebra, geometry, combinatorics, and number theory.
The Olympiad test was conducted in Arabic as the official language, with identical versions available in English and French, allowing each participating Arab country to select its preferred language.
The Scientific Committee of the Olympiad held a meeting with team leaders, assistants, and the correction committee, during which they reviewed and approved the test questions, solutions, and grading guidelines to ensure a smooth and fair evaluation process.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education is preparing to announce the winners and distribute medals and certificates at the closing ceremony scheduled for Thursday.
The Fourth Arab Mathematics Olympiad, hosted by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in collaboration with the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the Qatari National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science, began on Sunday and will conclude on Thursday. This Olympiad aims to foster communication among Arab students, promote excellence, creativity, and self-confidence, and encourage a stronger focus on mathematics by improving curricula and teaching methods across the Arab world.
