Doha, December 05 (QNA) - Executive Director of Administration of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024 Local Organizing Committee Haya Al Noaimi highlighted the pivotal role of volunteers in successfully hosting the upcoming tournament, expressing pride in the culture of volunteer work in Qatar, which is witnessing continuous growth, while noting the participation of 450 volunteers in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar.

Al Noaimi said in a statement that volunteers are the indispensable backbone of the success of every tournament hosted by Qatar, and stressed that their commitment and dedication makes every moment of the journey for fans and participating teams alike, and leaves a lasting impression of authentic Qatari hospitality.

She added that volunteers are the smiling faces that fans and participating teams see when they arrive in the country. In every sporting event, Qatar witnesses heroes of a different kind, and once again they will make this tournament an exceptional achievement with their valuable contributions.

The active participation of volunteers will not only enhance the fan experience, but will also add another chapter to Qatar's lasting legacy as a leading destination for major sporting events and global events.

Volunteers are the heart of major sporting events, including the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar , which takes place December 11-18.

The tournament will see the participation of 450 volunteers who provide support in 17 areas of operational processes, including the pre-tournament phase, fan services, media operations, and permits.

The FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024 Volunteer Program reflects Qatar's ongoing commitment to enhancing community engagement and effective outreach, and the program provides an opportunity for people with previous experience of volunteering at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 or the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 to participate.
