Doha, December 09 (QNA) - Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has signed a grant agreement with Qatar Charity (QC) to finance the mobile medical clinics project in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This project aims to provide critical healthcare services to over 530,000 people, particularly families devastated by the floods that impacted approximately 33 million individuals and destroyed vital infrastructure, including 1,460 healthcare facilities across the country.

As part of this agreement, 12 fully equipped mobile medical clinics will be operated, each staffed with specialized medical teams comprising doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, and health education experts. The clinics will operate in flood-affected areas, including Punjab province, offering comprehensive health services to vulnerable populations over the course of 12 months.

In addition, the project will provide vital medicines and medical equipment, as well as cover the salaries of healthcare workers within the mobile clinics. These clinics will focus on delivering quick, efficient, and essential basic medical care as well as offering health education to help local communities prevent disease outbreaks.

The agreement aims to reduce the spread of waterborne diseases and other epidemics through rapid medical interventions, while ensuring access to primary care services. By transitioning individuals from emergency relief to long-term health stability, the initiative plays a crucial role in the overall recovery process and lays the groundwork for future rehabilitation efforts.
