MoPH Trains Food Inspectors, Veterinarians on Calibration of Inspection, Measurement Equipment
Doha, December 11 (QNA) - The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) organized a specialized training course aimed at enhancing the skills of inspectors and veterinarians working for the ministry, ensuring the highest standards of quality in the field of food safety.
With the participation of 162 MoPH inspectors and veterinarians, the course covered the latest international techniques and methods used for calibrating inspections and measurement equipment, which ensures the accuracy of results obtained from food safety inspection devices.
Delivered by an internationally accredited organization, the training included both theoretical and practical lectures, in addition to forming work groups to discuss and apply new concepts. Moreover, evaluations were conducted at the end of each training day to assess learning outcomes.
At the conclusion of the intensive course, certificates of completion were awarded in the presence of representatives from the Food Safety Department.
In this context, Director of the Food Safety Department at MoPH Wasan Abdulla Al Baker stated that the course aimed to enhance accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness in the field of food safety inspections. She noted that the training directly contributes to more precise decision-making during inspection and measurement processes, thereby ensuring food safety.
Al Baker added, "Adopting best practices in calibration is essential for improving the quality of inspections and ensuring accurate results. The Food Safety Department is committed to providing all necessary conditions to enhance performance, develop skills, and increase efficiency in line with global standards." The Food Safety Department is internationally accredited by the American Accreditation Association in the field of inspection, in accordance with the ISO 17020 standard.
This accreditation applies to specialized sections involved in inspecting and sampling imported food at Hamad International Airport, Hamad and Al Ruwais ports, and the Abu Samra land border, as well as inspecting and sampling local food from factories, restaurants, hotels, markets, and all food-handling establishments across Qatar.
