Gulf Cup: Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah Stadium Opens Officially

Kuwait, December 12 (QNA) - The Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah Stadium officially opened for the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup slated for Dec. 21 to Jan. 3 in Kuwait.

The first match hosted by the stadium is set to be held next Sunday between Kuwait SC and Al Sulaibikhat SC before hosting the first match of the cup between Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Dec. 21.

With the capacity of about 15,000 fans, Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah Stadium is the second stadium used during the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup alongside Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.

The stadium features a sea view and a unique design in the shape of a shell in multi-colored external lighting.

Eight teams will participate in the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup divided into two groups. Group A features Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Oman, while Group B Features title holders-Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen. (QNA)
