Mwani Qatar CEO to QNA: QND Glorious Occasion Reflecting People-Leadership Unity

Doha, December 14 (QNA) - CEO of Mwani Qatar Captain Abdulla Mohamed Al Khanji said that celebrating the Qatar National Day reflects pride in the principles set out by the Founder, Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohammad Bin Thani, who established a strong and cohesive state based on Islamic values and principles.

Capt. Al Khanji added that the National Day is a glorious reminder of the unity of the country and the sense of solidarity that binds its people and leadership.

He went on to say that the occasion serves as an opportunity to demonstrate national identity, deepen ones sense of loyalty and belonging, and reaffirm ones pledge to continue on the path set out by the Founder towards hard-work and development.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the Qatar National Day celebrations, the CEO of Mwani Qatar extended his heartfelt congratulations to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, and to the Qatari people.

Capt. Al Khanji noted that this years National Day coincides with Qatar entering a new phase of development and growth within the framework of the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030, following a series of significant achievements in various fields, be it economic, social, or cultural, striving to reach the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The CEO of Mwani Qatar pointed out that 2024 saw several achievements with regards to the maritime transport sector, which enhanced Qatar's global position. He added that these accomplishments are a crucial part of fulfilling Qatar's goal of becoming a vital commercial and logistical hub in the region, in keeping with the Ministry of Transports strategic plan.

Capt. Al Khanji added that through continuous infrastructure development, embracing digital innovation, and making Hamad Port global shipping companies first choice in the region, Mwani Qatar is driving economic development and achieving its future vision of becoming a major player in global trade, thus, enabling Qatars maritime and logistics sector to compete globally, in addition to sustaining the sector and allowing it to play a greater role in economic development.

Capt. Al Khanji pointed out that Mwani Qatar played a significant role in boosting maritime trade in Qatar and the world, with a 23 percent increase in transshipment volumes from January to November 2024.

Moreover, he added that the company signed new cooperation agreements and Memoranda of Understanding aimed at enhancing Hamad Ports position as Qatars main gateway to world trade and improving the country's investment appeal.

The CEO of Mwani Qatar said that his company, in cooperation with its local and international partners, continues to expand the port's shipping network to include more ports across the globe, thus, strengthening its stature, expanding its activities on the world stage, and diversifying its services, adding that Hamad Port is currently connected directly and indirectly to more than 100 maritime destinations via 28 shipping lines established together with various international shipping companies.

Capt. Al Khanji detailed that during the period from January to November 2024, Mwani Qatar handled more than 1.334 million containers, 47 percent of which were transshipment containers on their way to other countries in the region, something that affirms Hamad Ports strategic significance as a key and trusted regional hub and reliable gateway for trade in the Middle East. He added that during that same aforementioned period, Mwani Qatar received 2,542 different vessels at Hamad and Al Ruwais Ports, handling more than 1.587 million tons of general and bulk cargo, over 499,000 head of livestock, more than 220,000 tons of construction materials, and about 128,000 units of vehicles and equipment.

Capt. Al Khanji concluded by saying that as 2024 comes to an end, the company looks to the new year with anticipation for further success and achievements in fulfillment of Qatars wise leaderships aspirations, in support of the Third National Strategy, and in the pursuit of realizing the Qatar National Vision 2030 and beyond, making the countrys ports the preferred choice for port users in the region, while ensuring world-class operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, offering Mwani Qatar employees with constant training.
