Doha, December 16 (QNA) - Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) organized a special event in celebration of Qatar National Day.

The event was attended by HE HMC Managing Director Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Suwaidi along with HMC leaders and employees.

These annual activities, organized by HMC's Human Resources Employee Wellbeing and Wellness Department, commemorate the unity and establishment of the State of Qatar in 1878 by the Founder, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammad Al-Thani.

The events aim to honor Qatari heritage, strengthen national identity among healthcare staff, and foster expressions of love and gratitude for the country.

They also highlight the state's proud history and provide an opportunity to explore Qatar's rich cultural legacy.

The celebration program featured a journey through history and Qatari heritage, offering a unique experience that blended tradition with modernization.

The venue was designed to resemble a Fereej, a traditional Qatari neighborhood, showcasing the cultural and social aspects that distinguish the State of Qatar.

There were several interactive areas in the celebration zone: Al Sekeek, the central area featuring traditional artistic performances, including the Ardha and the Qatari flag-raising ceremony, fostering a sense of pride and national belonging.

Daerat Al Maaref, a space reflecting education and culture in Qatari heritage, including live showcase of the art of Arabic calligraphy, a mini exhibition on healthcare history in Qatar, highlighting the evolution of healthcare in the nation, and a virtual reality experience, a window into innovation and technological advancements.

Al Bayt Al Aoud, a setting that embodies the warmth of traditional Qatari homes, featuring a storyteller sharing tales and folklore from Qatari heritage Maqleet: A space dedicated to authentic Qatari hospitality, and falconers corner, showcasing falcons and traditional hunting practices.

Al Souq, a nostalgic marketplace recreating the experience of traditional shopping in Qatar, including Al Maze, a space offering an authentic tasting experience of traditional Qatari dishes prepared using heritage recipes, Al Dukkaan, displaying local products and Qatari sweets, Al Hanaya, providing traditional henna services, Al Hafeez, an exhibition of traditional attire, and Al Akkas, a photo booth inspired by old Qatari homes, allowing participants to capture memorable moments.

Qatar National Day celebrations across HMCs facilities included raising Qatari flags to decorate HMC hospitals façades.

The celebrations were participated in by patients, visitors, and healthcare employees, who also exchanged congratulations on this precious occasion. (QNA)
