Doha, November 01 (QNA) - Executive Director, ICT Event Operations at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy Maryam Hamad Al Muftah said that technology became an important part of our infrastructure and crucial for planning a seamless tournament.

Al Muftah said she is very proud of being part of the team of hosting FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the first ever world cup in the Arab region and the Middle East. "We work together seamlessly with the goal of delivering a successful tournament."

She said that technology has an active role in the success of hosting sporting events, noting that she and her team have succeeded in completing several projects, especially in the Arab Cup, including the international link project, the project of using wireless communication devices in stadiums, and the fiber-optic transmission network project, which oversees the work of the event's IT network and organizes the work of broadcast networks.

"We worked closely with the Communications Regulatory Authority in order to meet FIFA obligations and delivered a number of projects in a short timeframe, including the command center and press conference area. The work we put in allowed broadcasters to take the highest quality footage in the quickest possible time which is one achievement we are truly proud of," she said. (QNA)
