Doha, November 14 (QNA) - The former Omani national team star Imad Al Hosani, confirmed his confidence in the Qatari teams appearance and strong performances in its first participation in the World Cup when it competes in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which starts next Sunday.

Al Hosani said in an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the hopes are high for the Qatari team in its first historic participation in the World Cup.

He pointed out that everyone believes in the capabilities of the Asian champion to appear strongly among its fans.

He added that the Qatari team had important experiences, and proceeded at a good pace during the preparation stage by participating in camps, and playing international friendly matches with teams that have a long history in the World Cup.

He noted that the list announced by coach Felix Sanchez included many players who contributed to crowning the team with its first title in the Asian Nations in 2019, in addition to the fact that the team obtained good experiences during the past two years after participating in various continental and international tournaments, both in Copa America or the CONCACAF Gold Cup and in the European qualifiers and gained great experience.

The former Omani national team star indicated that Ecuador is one of the strong teams, and the Qatari team is able to present the hoped-for show in this opening confrontation and achieve a satisfactory result, after it managed to reach the highest levels of readiness.

Al Hosani did not hide the difficulty of the teammates of Al-Moez Ali and Akram Afif against the Senegal and the Netherlands, but he indicated that the Qatari team seeks to present great levels in order to be respected by the world, and for everyone to know that Qatar has strong players capable of facing challenges against any team.

He concluded his statements to (QNA) by saying that the Qatar Football Association provided all the 'ingredients' for the team to prepare for these challenges very well, and the team will present an image that honors Arab football.
