Doha, June 09 (QNA) - The Armed Forces celebrated today the arrival of a training ship for the candidates (Al Shamal), arriving from the Republic of Turkey to Doha, under the patronage of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, and in the presence of HE Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad Al Nabit.
On this occasion, a ceremony was held that included a tour for the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces on board the training ship Al Shamal, during which he was briefed on the trip, the ship and its equipment.
It is worth noting that the ship was inaugurated in February 2022, in the presence of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, at the headquarters Anadolu Shipyard.
Al Shamal is one of the world's largest training ships in the world. It will be an important resource for training student candidates from the Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Ghanem Maritime Academy, thanks to the ship's strong capabilities.
During the course of the voyage, the ship received approximately 80 candidates from the Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Ghanem Maritime Academy, where they received theoretical and practical lessons that included entry and exit procedures from ports, navigation, and safety procedures. (QNA)
