Qatar Olympic Committee Officially Announces Establishment of Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation

Doha, August 02 (QNA) - The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) officially announced the establishment of Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) during a press conference on Tuesday attended by HE QCSF President Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Naimi, the QCSF Secretary-General and Head of QOC Public Relations and International Cooperation Rashid Saeed Adiba, along with staff and officials from QOC.
During the press conference, QOC explained that the establishment of Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation aims at promoting sports among male and female students in higher education institutions, by developing its activities and events in accordance with the best international standards and following them up in the field.
QOC added that other objectives also include the organization, coordination and implementation of sports projects, programs and activities among its members, as well as developing sports competition, and discovering talented athletes to raise the level of collegiate sports in the country locally, globally and regionally.
The Board of Directors of the new federation in its first session 2021-2024, includes Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Naimi as president; Rashid Saeed Adiba as Secretary-General; and the board members: Dr. Salem Nasser Al Naimi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Khaled Al-Thani, Rashid Ali Al Tamimi, Asmaa Mohammed Al Naimi, Hassan Muftah Al Kuwari, Hamad Saleh Al Shaibah, and Safiya Saleh Al Sheeb.
QOC revealed the message, vision and objectives, and founding procedures of Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation.
Dr. Al Nuaimi gave the opening speech at the press conference saying: "Our message is to build up high education institutions that will play a center stage role in the sports at both regional and global levels. Our vision is to build better sport activities for students of higher education institutions, namely, Universities, colleges, institutes in Qatar. We are leaving no stone unturned to discover the most talented students and taking our university sports to a new level of excellence locally, regionally and internationally." "Our key objective is to develop the sport and physical activities at the higher education institutions in a way that could significantly strengthen the sport culture and encourage society individuals and high education students to exercise sports day in day out" added Dr. Al Nuaimi.
"The QCSF is an entity acts as a complementary level to the sport activities being organized at the primary, intermediate and secondary schools throughout Schools Olympic Program," Dr. Al Nuaimi noted.
Dr. Al Nuaimi underlined sport will continue playing a key role in Qatar 2030 National Vision, "We aspire to see Qatar having a leading global sport status by bringing the world together throughout sustainable sport development." "Im truly proud to see our beloved country Qatar having a leading record in hosting the local, continental, and global sport events," concluded Dr. Al Nuaimi.
For his part, the QCSF Secretary General, Rashid Saed Mohammed has delivered a productive presentation on the QCSFs message, vision, objectives. He said that this pioneer federation will spare no effort to discover the most talented students who can support the Qatars national teams and the sport clubs. (MORE)
